The EdgeCluster is a dense, 4-nodes micro cluster that not only packs a powerful punch with its high-performance computing capabilities but also boasts impressive power efficiency, making it an attractive option for data-intensive workloads running at the edge.

Compact

EdgeCluster line of computers are designed with exterme compactness in mind allowing the appliance to be installed in network cabinet, at the most outer edge of your infrastructure.

With a standard 19" chassis of only 1U in height (44.6 mm, 1.75 inch) and a depth of only 255mm (10 inch), EdgeCluster products can be installed right in a network cabinet next to the local switch network.

Powerfull yet energy efficient

By leveraging CPU designed for mobile devices and integrating many of them in a single enclosure, EdgeCluster line of products offers a good balance between processing power and thermal efficiency.

With only 140W of power consumption measured right at the wall power outlet when all processors are running at full pace, the Ryzen 8840U equipped EdgeCluster has an amazing 4.4W per core.

Thermal handling

It is a known fact that 1U enclosure aren't the best kind when it comes to thermal management: small openings and small fans have a hard time moving air inside such enclosure.

Each installed board features its own thermal management: one laptop class fan with heatpipe is doing most of the lift to extract the heat from the processor while two 40mm fans are blowing at the back of the board to keep RAM, NVMe and other parts of the computer cool.

By using multiple discrete CPUs, the thermal load is evenly spread inside the enclosure allowing more processing capacity than an equivalent single socket CPU.

1U servers are prone to thermal throttling under heavy load. This is not the case for the EdgeCluster!

Versatile processing

Laptop CPUs also feature integrated GPU and NPU units. Those dedicated units can be leveraged to accelerate various workloads like video encoding, stream processing, AI inference...

Exclusive Internode Network

The EdgeCluster features a private LAN with extremly low latency were each node can communicate simulteanously with two siblings. This private network is arranged as a ring and leverages USB4NET links between nodes.

The unique approch to internode communication offered by our EdgeCluster saves you a lot of money:

By leveraging USB4NET host to host Ethernet tunneling link between nodes, data exchange well over 1GB/s is possible on a very tight budget.

Network

Each node of an EdgeCluster has a pair of high-speed Ethernet ports: a standard 1GbE port and a faster 2.5GbE port, with combined bandwidths reaching up to 350MB/s.
